Fusion Bonded Epoxy

Read more about our Fusion Bonded Epoxy below

Fusion Bonded Epoxy is a purely functional coating that can be applied to all metal surfaces.

This coating has been developed for pipelines for the purpose of protecting them against corrosion from salt water. We now use Fusion Bonded Epoxy on many types of components, such as pumps, filters, valves, fittings, beams etc. There are several possible choices of Fusion Bonded Epoxy, depending on the need for resistance to temperature and chemicals. The product is also used as electrical insulation.

Fusion Bonded Epoxy is applied as a powder on preheated components, after which the powder melts and hardens. The application is electrostatic, which makes it possible to be apply the product on hard-to-reach areas.

Fusion Bonded Epoxy is eco-friendly, as FBE does not contain any solvents and excess powder can be used again after a filtration process.

Jakob Albertsen has several application facilities as well as oven capacity, and we can coat for instance pipes or containers internally with a length of up to 12 meters and a diameter of 1 to 40 inches.

Fusion Bonded Epoxy has the following characteristics:

  • Very long life
  • Eco-friendly – no solvents – recycling of excess powder.
  • Resistant to all types of salt concentration at temperatures of up to 120 °C
  • Very high adhesion to the surface – up to 30 MPa
  • No filiform corrosion
  • Medium resistance to wear
  • High level of flexibility – up to 6% elongation
  • Medium resistance to chemicals
